If you haven’t heard of Hot Since 82 yet, you haven’t been listening. Over the past 12 months the Leeds, UK-based producer also known to go by Daley Padley, has been making a name for himself in the deep/tech/minimal house circles, by dropping hypnotic, funky, melody-infused house tracks that have landed him support from Pete Tong, Seth Troxler, Maceo Plex and a number of other significant music types.
Lately his reworks of Green Velvet’s “Bigger Than Prince” and Shadow Child’s “So High” have been ubiquitous, pumping out of speakers all over the place.
His first introduction to the house head masses came in early 2011 with underground hit “Let It Ride” on Noir Music, a track which caught on that year in Ibiza.
“Hot Jams Vol.” and “Houze Thiz” followed on Noir Music, along with official remixes for Pete Tong, Friendly Fires, Russ Chimes, Yousef, Toky and Los Suruba.
In late 2012 his track “Dawn” was named a Pete Tong Essential Track, and less than two months he dropped a very well-received (Essential Mix Hall of Fame, actually) BBC Radio One Essential Mix.
The past year of touring has taken him through big name clubs, around the world and he’s currently touring the US in support of Little Black Book (Ultra Music/Moda Black).
