Never mind the fact that Ivan Novich is only 19 years old, the dedication he has to his craft has led him to enjoy a level of confidence and experience that rivals any professional DJ or producer. Starting at age 6 when he was gifted a small electronic keyboard for Christmas; Ivan began the process of what proved to be an arduous journey into the realm of music producing.
Novich shared the same frustrations as most budding producers as he struggled with primitive audio software and a lack of knowledge on what was available. However this didn’t deter him from exploring the resources he had to their full extent, leading to the fully formed sound we hear in his work today. Ivan developed his style through countless writing and playing (in particular experimenting with sounds and rhythms) so if you listen to the track ‘Different’ for example, you can hear the varying layers and the richness of his melodies. This quality of sound can only be produced by an artist that truly understands the intricacy of music, one that actually cares about every note that goes into the song, not just catchy beats or hooks.
Ivan Novich started to DJ at age 15 with his first official remixes released in 2009, namely Imogen Heap’s ‘Headlock.
