Nicolet Luciano, also known as Lucien N. Luciano, is a Swiss audio producer and DJ who entered the worldwide music scene back in 2005.
Nonetheless, Luciano came to be in French-speaking Switzerland by Chilean mom and also a Swiss dad back in 1978. After the splitting up of his mom and dad at age eleven, Luciano and his mom moved to her native Santiago, Chile.
Luciano’s venture with music started at the age of sixteen when his mom gave him a guitar for school. Thus, with other classmates, young Luciano formed a band. However, some of the band members were so bad that they needed to be replaced. It was at this time that Luciano realized that a drummer could be replaced by a drum machine. This sequence of events is what first brought him into contact with electronic music.
Unfortunately, due to a grim economic scenario, Luciano was compelled to leave school at the age of seventeen. To quickly bring in an income, he started to perform small-scale occupations such as a server and a bellboy. However, it was the time that Luciano spent in the poor areas of Santiago which enabled him to spread his music to its residents. As such, he was simply nicknamed “Magic”.
After blowing up in Chile’s electronic music arena by the age of 21, Luciano relocated to Europe to see how far DJing could take him.
Once in Europe, Luciano began performing at underground occasions around the Island of Ibiza and procured his 1st genuine DJ position for Sven Vath’s “Cocoon” nightclub. Afterwards, he sculpted a partnership with Ibiza’s infamous after-hours nightclub Circo Loco at Dc-10, where he carried out a six year residency. During his time at DC-10, Luciano became celebrated world-wide for his legendary, mental sets, which showcased a mind altering mixture of pure house, sharp Latin beats and bare bones techno.
As a result, Luciano has risen up from the underground DJ landscape to become a real champion of techno and house. Having said this, it DJing is not the only thing that has made Luciano a success. In addition to being an outstanding DJ, Luciano’s extended and remarkable discography contains launches on respected music labels as a producer.
