DJ Salex, born as Stephanie Alexis is a DJ/Producer/Composer from San Francisco, CA. She is classically and jazz trained for 20 years on a number of string instruments, and has been making electronic music for over 10 years.
Her style features frantic rhythms, eerie melodies, and insanely layered beats. She takes a lot of influence from the jazz greats and hip hop. Her true love (almost obsession) for Jungle and Drum’n’Bass, has really lead her to becoming a great DJ.
Her DJing is a bit techy, a bit flashy, slightly jazzy, but smoothed out at times, with that classic dubby reggae sound. Mostly she just gets down and dirty with the bass.
