Tommie Sunshine was born Thomas Lorello on the 26th of March in 1971. He is a DJ, remixer and songwriter of electronic music.
Tommie is originally from Chicago now residing in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. He’s possibly best-known for producing dance remixes to popular rock and alternative tunes, by artists including Fall-out Boy, Panic at the Disco, Good Charlotte, Hellogoodbye, Mindless Self-indulgence, P.O.D., Kelis, Kill Hannah, Shiny Toy Guns, and a lot more. He currently operates alongside The Disco Fries and also for a trio with Bart B More and RipTidE below the name Horsepower. Previously he’s worked with musicians including DJ Hell, James Murphy, The Aston Shuffle Mark Verbos, Tomcraft, Marc Romboy, Miss Kittin and Felix Da Housecat.
In 2006, Tommie Sunshine remixed the successful songs from the record “Shut Me Up”, “Straight to Video” and “You’ll Rebel to Anything,” by the group “Mindless Self Indulgence” for the album “Shut Me Up (The Remixes 3).” In precisely the same year, he furthermore remixed another successful track by Mindless Self Indulgence named “Another Mindless Rip Off” and “What Do They Know,” for the band’s other album.
In 2007, Tommie Sunshine unveiled a collection album to the Ultra Records music label as a component of the dance collection CD set entitled Ultra.Rock Remixed including a few of his most famous remixes. The follow-up mixed CD, Relax This Won’t Hurt was launched October of the year 2008.
Also in 2008, Tommie Sunshine remixed Yoko Ono’s brand new variant of “Give Peace A Chance”. This remixed version was produced for a “Twisted” 12″ and which arrived at the top spot on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play Chart. He was likewise active within the music creation for Konami’s most recent Dance Dance Revolution game, DDR X. He provided two unique tracks for the sport, as well as his “Brooklyn Fire ReTouch” combination of Wine-red from The Hush Sound. Also, Tommie re affiliated himself with “Mindless Self-indulgence,” remixing their hit song on their “If” record, “Never Wanted to Dance.”
This Season, Tommie Sunshine remixed Amanda Lear’s brand new song I’m Coming Up.
In the year 2012, Tommie Sunshine made a mega mix of Katy Perry singles on the record Teenage Dream. Named Tommie Sunshine’s Megasix Smash Up, it had been highlighted in the re-release.
