Slovenian DJ Umek began his career in 1993 at the age of 17, and he is considered one of the pioneers of the country’s EDM scene. In 2001, he gained recognition throughout Europe’s top DJs for his ability to mix rapidly while using four turntables, along with his ear for producing uplifting sets.
One of the busiest DJs in the world, with over 100 gigs a year, while remixing and producing albums. Hows that for earning frequent flyer miles?
Since gaining notoriety, Umek has produced remixes for a variety of artists, including Depeche Mode, Lucca, Silence, Ben Long, and several others. He owns and operates two record labels called Recycled Loops and Consumer Recreation.
In 2007, he entered DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs Poll at No. 29.
