Capacity :
About 7th Street Entry7th Street Entry is most famous for being attached to the historic First Avenue club, but it is a rocking club in its own right. The capacity is just 250, compared to 1,500 for First Avenue, which lends a more laid back, intimate vibe. The space was originally used as a restaurant area in the building’s previous life as a Greyhound Station, but it’s been operating as a rock venue since 1980.
You’ll typically see lesser-known local bands play here, but the vetting process is brutal – this is not a coffee shop open mic. There are numerous now-famous recordings that have been done here, including Husker Du’s debut album Land Speed Record, and Big Black’s song “Cables” from their Atomizer album.
On any given night you can never know quite what to expect. You may be treated to an acoustic set from the next Hunter Hayes, or you may be dancing the night away in a DJ-led dance party. Check their Facebook or website regularly for tips on getting discount admission or scoring one of the few coveted tables. This venue is primarily general admission, standing room only, and ticket prices range from $10 – $35.
