About Rhythm RoomBuried in the heart of Phoenix, you’ll find one of the best-loved music venues in the Valley, having celebrated its 20th Anniversary in 2011. Since it’s opening, “Rhythm Room” has become an indispensable cog in the Phoenix Blues, Jazz and Roots machine, also happily dabbling in other styles such as R & B, Swing, Jazz, Indie or Alternative Rock.
Hosting local and national acts such as Pinetop Perkins, Sanford Clark, Dick Dale, R. L. Brunside, Chico Chism or Cursive on any day except of Mondays, the fittingly small, crowded and seedy venue is the perfect place for a band to draw a nice-sized crowd.
With not many seating opportunities aside from a railing with bar stools dividing the room, the patrons don’t have much choice but to exercise on the dancefloor in front of the stage, or wiggle around standing in the otherwise intimate and cosy atmosphere, following the novel concept of actually having a conversation with each other.
If you’re after a “swinging good time” in a place that still has that dark and smoky vibe of a classic blues lounge, don’t miss this place. Make sure to get there early as it fills up quickly and to grab a bite from the food truck outside – authentic.
If you’re a music lover of the bluesier, rootsy kind, the “Rhythm Room” is a trip to New Orleans!
