John Dadzie grew up in Los Angeles CA and knew that he wanted to make records his own way from the outset of his musical career. That’s why he was one of the founding members of the record label Imperial Recordings, with DJ Lith. Around this time, Dadzie tried his hand at Drum and Bass and quickly grew tired of the sound.
Somewhere around 2006 he adopted the moniker of 12th Planet, and decided to start making dubstep music. At the time Dadzie was one of the first to introduce the sound to Western audiences, and is often credited as the King of American Dubstep. 12th Planet also began working closely with a local friend and musician named Sonny Moore, AKA Skrillex. Producing plenty of tracks with the other dubstep superstar.
He quickly rose to fame as a prominent dubstep artist and has toured the world with some notable artists and events. He released his first album “The End” on Dec 12th 2012 to not much fanfare, but here’s to hoping that the best is yet to come for the young producer.
