Born and raised in one of the spiritual homes of trance, Sheffield, England, Adam Ellis grew up listening to tastemakers such as Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, and Eddie Haliwell. He first gained recognition after remixing a track by Planet Perfecto, which garnered Ellis the support of scene legend Paul Oakenfold. Ellis went on to remix a number of tracks for his hero Paul Van Dyk. Upon the release of his debut original track “Napalm Poet”, the single became a regular part of the set for DJs such as John O’Callaghan and Bryan Kearney. The single skyrocketed Ellis to international recognition after it was featured at A State of Trance 600, which was held to celebrate the 600th episode of Armin Van Buuren’s famous radio show. Since then, Ellis has become known for his dedication to creating all of the material that goes into each track without seeking the support of sound engineers or ghostwriters.
