Doctor P is the moniker of the English dubstep DJ and producer Shaun Brockhurst, who was born on April 9th back in 1986. He is one of the founding entrepreneurs of Circus Records, together with Earl Falconer, Swan-E and Flux Pavilion.
Nevertheless, Shaun started to produce songs beneath the alias DJ Picto, along with a cooperation alongside Trolley Snatcha and Amadeus as “Sounds Destructive”. Furthermore, he launched his initial release entitled “The Lawnmower Tune” by way of Cyntax Error.
A number of additional releases accompanied on Mutation, Cyntax Error and Second City along with his solo launch ‘Raving Rudeboy’ grabbed and remixed by DJ Zen. This conjured up curiosity about the drum and bass arena and in a short time Shaun was discussing to DJ Swan E who operated the recording label Maximum Boost. This triggered the cooperation which is Slum Dogz.
Submerged in tinkering with fresh sounds Shaun recognized a growing sub-genre of more dynamic bass-powered dubstep, with songs such as Rusko’s ‘Cockney Thug’. Doctor P was motivated to take a stab at producing a handful of dubstep melodies at the same time, and came up with memorable and body-moving ‘Gargoyle’, soon pursued by the amazing ‘Badman Sound’ that were immediately grabbed by Rusko as well as other DJs. To represent his brand-new sound, Shaun altered his alias and grew to become Doctor P.
As soon as he published his innovative tune ‘Sweet Shop’ on his MySpace to examine interest, little was Doctor P to understand that this action would alter the path of dubstep and support a completely new era of dubstep fanatics.
Experimenting on the keyboards and joining some chords with a sung sample to generate an old-school house beat, Shaun developed an introduction that lulls the crowd into a fictional feeling of stability before rapping them sidelong with an incredible fall into a heavy bass line accompanied by a squealing synth. ‘Sweet Shop’ immediately was a basic component of pretty much every Dubstep DJ’s collection.
Considering the acknowledgement that his work has attracted to that point, ‘Doctor P’ matured tremendously as he began DJing internationally, and remixing for honored musicians like Plan B, Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip and Example.
