Netherlands-native trance DJ Ferry Corsten has had nothing short of a prolific career. As a teenager he saved up money working at a car wash and sold mixtapes around his neighborhood in order to buy his first keyboard. He recorded his first album at 16, then began his professional career the next year. After that he began releasing a variety of singles under different aliases, creating his first charted track under the name Moonman called “Don’t Be Afraid”. By the turn of the century, Corsten’s tracks were becoming hits on dance floors around the globe.
Eventually he began working with fellow production innovators such as Tiestö , Vincent de Moor, and Robert Smit. At that point, his tracks were topping charts all over the world, and he was producing award winning remixes.
Over the course of the past decade, Corsten has consistently ranked among the best on DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs Poll, achieving his highest position in 2005 at No. 5. Since launching his career, he has been nominated for and won so many awards that it’s impossible to list them all here, but to name just a few, Corsten has garnered numerous Gold Sales Awards from Trance Nation, a Dancestar Award for Best Producer of the Year, the Silver Harp Award for Outstanding Contributions to Dutch Music, and Best Trance DJ Ibiza, among many others.
