British EDM DJ and producer James Holden launched his career at the young age of 19 when he began releasing a variety of original tracks and remixes through a number of small labels. Eventually he decided to launch his own label, and Border Community was the result. The label’s first release was his single “A Break in the Clouds”, which received a high level of praise. Soon he was producing remixes for some of the biggest names in music, such as Depeche Mode, Britney Spears, Madonna, and New Order. In 2006 he released a mix album called James Holden at the Controls, which was named Album of the Month by Mixmag. That same year he put out The Idiots are Winning, which was called “the most astonishing debut” by an electronic artist that the newspaper the Guardian had heard in years.
