Hungarian DJ/producer Jay Lumen has been making a name for himself the old fashioned way: with bangin’ production and loads of touring.
Having started his musical journey in a conservatory where the weapon of choice was violin, Lumen soon realized that his future was composing music with zeroes and ones. Transitioning to digital production, Lumen used his formal education to inform his initial forays into EDM, teaching himself synthesizer, as well as the ins and outs of the various music production software packages he managed to get his hands on.
His efforts have yielded pretty stunning results. In both 2010 and 2011 he managed to be the only producer with 6 tunes (originals and remixes) on the Beatport charts simultaneously. Included in those are six No. 1s, and eleven top tens.
With a solid history of producing great tunes, he’s released music on some of the biggest names in EDM including Saved, Ministry of Sound, 100% Pure, Mistakes Music, and Great Stuff among others, and the list of EDM luminaries who have shown his music support include Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Sven Vath, and Booka Shade, amongst others.
He’s known as surefire house rocker building his performances on house, tech house, and techno, accessible to noobs and appreciated by veterans alike. It has landed him gigs in the biggest clubs in the world, including spots at Ministry of Sound in London, Sanctuary in Dubai, and Club Pasha, in India. He’s also a regular on the festival circuit.
