British DJ and producer Mat Zo was raised in a musical family, and at age eight he began playing the guitar, followed by the drums and bass. Initially, he performed jazz and rock, but as he became increasingly influenced by acts such as the Chemical Brothers and Daft Punk, electronic dance music became more and more interesting. Finally he shifted genres, and after three years of producing, his tracks began to catch on with London DJs. By 2009, artists such as Above & Beyond, Daniel Kandi, and Lang were praising his sound. The following year, Mat Zo appeared in DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs at No. 66. It wasn’t long before he was releasing highly acclaimed albums through Anjuabeats and collaborating with big name DJs like Porter Robinson to create No. 1 hits. Mat Zo has also remixed tracks for highly recognizable musicians such as Ellie Goulding, Kylie Minogue, Radiohead, and U2.
