Norwegian-born trance DJ and producer Orjan Nilsen became interested in music at an early age, getting his first keyboard at the age of seven. By sixteen, he was playing with a synthesizer. Within six years, he had produced a number of DIY remixes and originals that—regardless of the fact that they had no label backing—were getting play in clubs and on radio stations around the globe. In 2006, Nilsen released his first official album on Intuition Recordings, “Arctic Globe/Prison Break”. “Arctic Globe raced to the top of the Dutch dance charts. Since then, Nilsen has toured extensively throughout the world, and has collaborated with scene heavyweights such as Armin van Buuren.
As a DJ, Ørjan Nilsen quickly established himself with an infectious blend of all things chunky and groovy, his energy and presence behind the decks has taken him around the world playing at some of the world’s finest clubs and biggest festivals, from Sao Paulo to Sydney and many places in-between.
Since launching his career, Nilsen has received a number of recognitions. In 2012, he was ranked No. 32 on DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs Poll. In the same year, the International Dance Music Awards nominated him as Breakthrough DJ of the Year.
