Henry Alfred Smithson Steinway is known in the DJ world as both Clockwork and RL Grime. The young producer is relatively new on the scene and has blown up at a rapid rate since his beginnings just a few years ago. Influenced by his hometown of Los Angeles along with his move cross-country to New York City, Henry as RL Grime produces instrumental hip-hop tracks and hip-hop remixes. His remix of Kanye West’s “Mercy” and Benny Benassi’s “Satisfaction” gained RL Grime mass attention and later works such as his High Beams EP solidified his role as one of the leaders in trap music. The name “RL Grime” comes from one of his favorite childhood authors, RL Stein, who has supported the young producer by recording introductions for his Halloween mixes every year.
RL Grime is signed to Dim Mak, Mad Decent and Fool’s Gold Records. He tours internationally and frequently makes nightclub and festival appearances in the US.
