Arguably the biggest Australian DJ of all time, tyDi-Tyson Illingworth showed promise as early as his mid-teens. In 2008, at the age of 17, he was already signed to Armin Van Buuren’s record label Armada. That same year he was named Australia’s No. 1 DJ, making him the youngest to ever receive the distinction. He went on to retain the title the following year.
In 2009, he released his debut full-length, Look Closer, which hit No. 2 on the Australian dance charts. In 2010, he was named Best Breakthrough DJ at the International Dance Music Awards. He then spent two years touring the world before releasing his follow-up, Shooting Stars, which hit No. 1 in several countries and No. 4 in the United States. Over the course of his career, tyDi has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music, and has created remixes for artists such as Cher, Vegas Baby, BT, Marcus Schulz, Tropher Jones, and many more.
Each year beginning in 2009, tyDi has been voted to commendable positions within DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs.
