German-born DJ and producer Anton Zaslavski—better known by the stage name Zedd)—was raised by a family of musicians, and he began playing music at the age of four. By age 13, he was part of a band on Lifeforce Records called Dioramic. As the years went by, he became increasingly interested in electronic music, and finally shifted into the genre in 2009.
Since then, Zedd has skyrocketed to superstar status. He started by winning two Beatport remix challenges, breaking into the high end of Beatport’s Electro House Top 20 with an original piece, “The Anthem”, and reaching No. 2 with a remix of “Scary Monsters and Nice Spirits” by Skrillex. Zedd went on to produce remixes for A-list performers such as Lady Gaga, Skrillex, the Black Eyed Peas, Fatboy Slim, and many others. He has done production work on albums for Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, and Namie Amuro.
In 2013, Zedd was nominated Best Pop Superstar by Popdust. In the same year, he was nominated Artist to Watch by the MTV Video Music Awards.
