The 2014 Vortex Festival is all about the youth. The organizers were frustrated at the lack of spaces for young folks to organize and throw their own concerts, events, and parties, and they got together to do something about it. Held at the Zappa nightclub in Antwerp, the event has skyrocketed to a level the organizers couldn’t have seen coming.
Those familiar with the success of Bass Circus will be pleased to note that the organizers of that event have reunited to organize the Vortex Festival. Though there will be several acts performing, the Vortex Festival will be similar to Bass Circus in several ways, including the heavy influence of Drum n Bass from surrounding countries.
In addition to the boom of Drum n Bass, party-goers can soak in electro, house, and dubstep. The youth of Antwerp came together to work directly with the organizers to create a lineup that’s fresh, eclectic, and full of energy. The lineup currently includes Feint, Two Thirds, PhaseDnB, NCT, Vaizo, Urbanstep, Maduk, Athys & Duster, Muzzy, ChampionDNB, Anth M, and Changing Face, though the promoters have been clear that surprise guests are not out of the question.
