All time favorite DJ and master of Trance music Armin Van Buuren recently said in an interview that “being in the list of top 100 DJs doesn’t mean you’re the best”. Going back to his early years, Armin’s first known success was when he was 19 with a track released under Cyber Records Label which was titled “Blue Fear”. This proved to be a stepping stone to Armin’s becoming a DJ and an icon in the music world. Trance is what he’s best at but he seems to hold onto various grooves and touch.
Having more than 25 million fans in 26 countries around the world, Armin has been ranked in the list of top 100 DJ’s for the fifth time in a row. He has also won many consecutive awards for outstanding performance from 2007 to 2012 including the Golden Harp for his contribution to Dutch music. Armin has been hosting a radio show which is titled as A State of Trance from 2001 which has a fan following in millions. He celebrated the 600th episode of this radio show by performing at different states along with various artists.
In March 2013, Armin announced the release of his fifth album titled as “Intense” which has already created a state of unrest amongst his fans. Intense is due to be released on 3rd May 2013, which is almost three years after the release of his previous album “Mirage”. First single of this music album that is “That is what it feels like” has already been released in April 2013 featuring Canadian singer and song writer Trevor Gutherie.
Along with the announcement of his album’s release, Armin also declares that he’ll start with the world tour by performing live songs of Intense. One of his live performances will be held in Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome on November 15th, 2013. This is the first date that has been announced by him for his world tour. Fans who don’t want to miss the opportunity for this live show may pre-book their seats as the Ziggo Dome has capacity of only 12,000 visitors.
Armin says that the album “Intense” is a mix up of rock, classic, progressive, pop and trance. Almost three years were incorporated in the making of this album. He collaborated with Israeli Grammy award winning violinist Miri Ben-Ari along with artists like NERVO, Trevor Gutherie, Emma Hewitt, Laura Jansen, Fiora and many others.
Intense comprises of 16 tracks out of which 12 are performed with association of other artists and the total duration of this album is an hour and twenty minutes. The album opens up with the song having similar name to that of the album title which is “Intense”. Armin stated that “I haven’t put so much effort in any of my previous albums but this one is really Intense”. Armin along with his fans is eagerly waiting for the release day of this album and is expecting it to be one of the best releases till now.
According to the most recent news as that on April 19th 2013, Armin also won the 3FM award for the “Best Dance Artist”.
