About Cole’s BarCole’s is Logan Square’s come one come all bar. Not really a dumpy dive, not a wreck of hip, not uppity -expensive.
The owner’s name is Coleman (Cole). He and the other bartenders are friendly and inviting, which is always a good thing. Furthermore, the striking revolving casts of beers which are on tap are very reasonably priced.
The venue half of the space, with its non-descript stage, is removed enough so that one can avoid the sound, but it really is also close enough that one can be pulled in if a group sounds worth the complimentary entrance.
“Open Mike Wednesdays” and “Record Label DJ Nights” on Thursdays–including HoZac and Addenda nights, for instance, generate pleasant mid-week hangouts, combined with a well-deserved libation or two.
What to Expect:
Cole’s has a Divey/Hipster ambiance, so if you are looking for a venue to show off your shiny shoes or new tie, this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for a place that is very inexpensive, good for dancing, with an average noise level, then you are in luck as Cole’s fits the bill.
Past guest will implore you to check Cole’s out on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, which tend to be their best nights. Just be ready to do a little bit of walking to and from your vehicle since there is no off-street parking available.
