About Hammerstein BallroomOne of the most iconic theaters of NYC, the Hammerstein Ballroom was built in the Manhattan Opera House in 1906. Over all these years, it has gone through several renovations and seen many owners. After major restorations and alterations to the old opera house, the place reopened as Hammerstein Ballroom.
Spread over an area of 12,000 square feet, this two tiered ballroom is famous for its excellent acoustic system. There are six small balconies for VIP guests and the floor has a slant towards the stage, offering clear visibility to everyone in the hall.
It has versatile features with three balconies, floor level seating, side boxes, and a capacity to seat 3,500 guests. The ballroom has superior acoustics, and it has hosted a number of performances and official live recordings. Many shows at Hammerstein Ballroom have been houseful including those of Patti LaBelle and Korn.
Some of the popular names of celebs who performed at this place are Nicki Minaj, the Cosmic Opera, and 30 Seconds to Mars. Hammerstein Ballroom was used several times to host the TV show “America’s Got Talent”.
