About Lavo NYCThe club itself is located underneath the Lavo restaurant, which offers an upscale Italian-inspired menu at mid-town New York City prices. Once you enter the club, via the stairs by the restaurant bar or the main entrance on the street, you’ll find yourself in an elegant, decadently appointed space. Tasseled curtains, herringbone floor tiling, ornate, custom metal railings, vintage décor, lots of wood, leather, and marble, mirrors, and a well-designed lighting scheme, all come together in a sexy, sort of burlesque, definitely New York, and ultimately extravagant fashion.
Tiered flooring gives place a larger feel, different sections of the club at different levels. Lavo features two bars, a reasonable amount of seating, and lots of space to dance. The dance floor is the focal point, and sunk into the floor and dominated by the custom crafted LED disco ball. The VIP section is slightly elevated and features plush seating and bottle service.
As much attention as was put into the design, they aren’t skimping on the talent. DJ Chuckie, Tiesto, Erick Morillo, Calvin Harris, Avicii, Laidback Luke, Martin Solveig, Markus Shulz, and Steve Aoki, among a long list, have all played sets on the custom made Martin Audio sound system.
You can expect the upscale crowd to be full of models, celebrities, big spenders, lots of very pretty eye candy, with all the attitude you might expect. Once inside it’s high-energy, but not fist-pumping Jersey Shore energy, it’s a classier, grown up scene. The door renowned for being extremely selective, and the place gets packed, so short of reserving a table or knowing someone who knows someone, there is very little guarantee of entry.
