About The Abbey PubSince its 1973 introduction to the Irving Park neighborhood of Chicago, The Abbey has put on a varied combination of regional and national acts. Even native legends like Andrew Bird and Wilco have performed at this spot. The Abbey also takes pride in developing and promoting the neighborhood music arena with assorted weekly and monthly residencies. However, you don’t need to become a revolutionary rock innovator to grab the stage. The Green Room Pub carries a weekly open mic night on Tuesdays for those future music artists and bands aiming to show off their talent to local audiences.
What to Expect:
Most nights the Abbey has live music showcasing local, regional and national performers from indie rock to classic Irish music.
The pub side of The Abbey was updated courtesy of the Spike TV show “Bar Rescue” and is currently known as The Green Room at The Abbey. Boasting a fresh menu, it’s a superb area to see all major sports events and a wonderful place to get drinks, an evening meal or relax prior to a show.
Past guests will tell you that The Abbey has a Divey/Casual ambiance, is moderately priced, has an average noise level and is a great place to go dancing.
