About The NinesSituated on Lancaster University Campus, The Nines is, in essence, a student union club that pushes the boundaries with its selection of nights. Rather than sticking to the cheesy offering of most student unions, The Nines has a history of bringing the world’s top breakbeat DJs to their student crowd. Krafty Kuts, A-skillz, and Plump DJs have all performed here.
It’s still a student union and the venue isn’t tailor made for great acoustics or clubbing. However, it is rare that these DJs come to the north of England, so the crowd comes to party hard and sample some of the names most university students have only heard on Internet sets. Cheap drinks and entry add to the feel-good vibe, and these nights get sold out despite the club having no web presence. If you can handle the crowd being invariably on the young side, when the DJs play, it can be a riotous and cheap night.
