About The Parish New OrleansNestled inside the New Orleans House of Blues, The Parish may be a much smaller space than the main venue, but it’s got plenty of pizazz. The stage is lower than in the main room, so you feel like you’re at a house party jamming to lesser-known bands and DJs with tons of talent, but who simply haven’t made it big yet.
Insider’s tip: Ask to ride the elevator up. It’s decorated with flyers from previous bands and creates a wonderful feeling of nostalgia. As you’re browsing the upcoming bands and DJs, don’t be afraid to take a risk on an act you’ve never heard of. The ticket prices are very reasonable, and you may be treated to an intimate show with a future arena-only act.
On the other hand, drinks can set you back. Though this is a smaller, more intimate venue than the main HOB stage, the drink prices are the same. Expect to pay as much as $5 for a Modelo, or grab a Miller Lite Tallboy for $6. Beer snobs may want to stay at home: There are no IPAs here, and nothing on draft.
