About Trees DallasInitially opening up in May of 1990, Trees is a highly regarded live music venue within the Deep Ellum and Dallas / Fort Worth region.
Since then, Trees has become host to a number of the largest names in new music including Radiohead, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Deftones, Dave Mathews Band, Tool, and Erykah Badu to mention only a handful.
In fact, legend has it that the smoking patio of Trees is the same place that Kurt Cobain got beaten up by a bouncer in the middle of an infamous Nirvana set there.
Nonetheless, with a new remodeling and a top rated audio system, Trees is a fantastic spot to find out your favorite groups.
Hours of Operation:
Thu-Sun 7 pm – 2 am
What to Expect:
A favorite venue in Dallas for metal and moshing, Trees is a little pricier than the smaller venues in Deep Ellum. However, given the fact that it is more well -known and features more than just local bands, this is to be expected. The fact is that the drinks and the bar area are insignificant when compared to the music experience that Trees brings.
The second floor has a nice lounge area and the side of the building is sectioned off for hanging out and smoking. The mosh pit is always awesome but the sound system will murder your eardrums if you forget to wear earplugs.
Some people may call it “grungy” but grungy is exactly what fits the vibe of Elm Street. There are other places to walk to in the area, so there is a lot to do before and after a show.
Past guests will tell you that the best nights to check out Trees are Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, so keep this in mind if you are considering heading over to Trees.
