About Upstairs LoungeUpstairs Lounge has been providing St. Louis partiers a place to get-down for over twenty years. They’re well-known for both their exceptional local DJs and their clientele who love nothing more than dancing the night away. Every week you’ll find an onslaught of dubstep, electro, Top 40, hip hop, and drum ‘n bass.
Regulars love the combination of cheap drinks and booming audio system, and the red-lights peppering the dance area don’t hurt. The dance floor is located under a glittering disco ball, as all exceptional dance floors should be. When you first step inside these hallowed walls, you’ll immediately see just how important the dance scene is: the dance floor takes up almost the entire room.
There’s no sign advertising this popular South Grand club. Just head to the corner of Grand Blvd and Hartford Street, and you’ll find this club nestled above Mekong. Get there early to snag a booth and people-watch, or check out one of the two sister bars located in the same building: Barbarella or Blue Room.
Weekends usually require a cover or a nod on the guest list, while weeknights are typically free. Keep an eye on their website for up-to-date info on no cover nights, as well as the latest on their theme nights.
