Velvet Lounge is a quaint little two-level spot in the U Street District of Washington DC.  Its draw is a diverse mixture of live punk and indie bands both local and from around the country.  With a total local band dive appeal Velvet Lounge has low ceilings dark walls lots of colorful concert lighting.  There is a great glass wall near the back which provides views of the street, great light reflection and really makes you feel the local town vibe.  Swing in, grab a drink, kick back to great sounds, and enjoy the vibe at Velvet Lounge next time you are in DC.
