About Webster HallWebster Hall has had the reputation of being the first modern nightclub since its inception in 1886.
You get to choose between a grand ballroom, a proscenium stage and a small studio that is popular for DJ gigs. The music scene includes four different parties at every level of the club, each having it’s own entertainment. Usually, DJs spin hip-hop inside the Studio area; the Marlin Room plays anything from the Top 40 mash-ups to the electro-hipster pop; the Grand Ballroom features a range from electronic house to mainstream hip-hop; and the Balcony Lounge generally plays salsa.
Getting past the door might be a concern as the cover charges can sometimes go up as high as $30. However, the smart thing to do would be to reserve your tickets in advance at ten dollars off.
The club’s special nights include burlesque in the Ballroom, Ladies’ Night on Thursdays, and Trash Parties in the Studio on Fridays. Wild club parties are held every Saturday, along with the Circus in the Ballroom.
Dress code is generally hip. On club nights (running Thursday through Saturday), collared shirts, dresses and heels are appreciated. Anything will do for Trash, Bowery Presents, and Studio nights- sneakers, T-shirts, jeans, and heels.
